This college is named for a Frenchman who crossed an ocean.
Two hundred years later, at the College's bicentennial, three brothers from our Paris chapter made the same crossing.
They came to Easton to honor the Marquis, representing Zeta Psi's European chapters. One of the three now advises President Macron. One is reading for a doctorate at Oxford. The third lectures at the Sorbonne.
No other house on this campus has a living connection to the man the College is named for. That is not a marketing line. It happened, and the men who came are the reason the rest of this page exists.
Zeta Psi is not a campus club with a national office. It has been crossing borders since the nineteenth century, and Tau has been at Lafayette since 1857.
1879
First fraternity in Canada
University of Toronto, Theta Xi chapter. Still active today, 147 years later.
2008
First fraternity outside North America
University of Oxford, Iota Omicron chapter. Five more have followed since.

Countries with active chapters
United States, Canada, England, Ireland, France, Greece, Morocco, Spain.
Three times a year, they all meet at Oxford.
Black tie, every European chapter in one room. Paris, Dublin, Madrid, Athens, Ifrane. It is not a conference and nobody is presenting anything. It is a party, and it has been going on for years without most Americans knowing it exists.
Joining Tau puts you in that room.

What this actually means for you
01
Study abroad with an address
A large share of Lafayette students spend a term overseas. Land in Dublin, Paris, Madrid, Athens or Oxford and there are brothers there before you arrive — men who know the city, the university, and where you should actually be living.
02
A network that does not stop at graduation
Fifty thousand members across eight countries and most industries you would want into. The letters are the introduction. Very few 22-year-olds get handed a warm contact in London, Toronto or Madrid.
03
A program you help build
The Paris chapter already crossed the ocean for us once. Tau is now opening steady working ties to the chapters abroad — visits, joint events, an exchange worth the name. This is early. The men who join now decide what it becomes.
If an international network is the reason you would join a fraternity, this is the one house at Lafayette worth a conversation.
